name is Mark Scates and I offer tuition
to students on a 1 to 1 basis, or to small groups.
This is normally in my local area of Romford in Essex.
I generally teach Chemistry and Biology to A level and Science at KS3 and at GCSE. On occasions I have taught short courses for entry level exams into university, and some other subjects related to Science.

I have worked as an industrial chemist for the past 7 years, and worked as a home tutor for the past 6 years for a London based agency, but now I feel that I'm able to branch out on my own.
I am a graduate from the Open University, holding a honours degree in Natural Sciences with Chemistry as well as both a HNC in science (chemistry) and a diploma in Chemistry. I currently hold fully Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and an up to date CRB check. I have taught in Schools from KS3-KS5.
My past students are very grateful to me for helping them, and their grades improved tremendously with my help. As a tutor I believe that the key to a students success is in practice and I encourage my students to practice as many past papers as possible, along with other exam
questions. This not only fills in gaps in their knowledge but also gives students the understanding of how to interpret a exam paper, which is most important especially at A level.
I also feel that parents can encourage and help as well so meeting to discuss the students progress should be made, so that if necessary key areas can be targeted for improvement.
